At the entrance to a neighborhood, the community leader put up a large sign:
“SLOW DOWN! PEDESTRIANS CROSSING!”
Drivers ignored it and continued speeding.
So he tried again:
“SLOW DOWN! CHILDREN AHEAD!”
Still, nobody slowed down.
Frustrated, he finally came up with a new strategy.
He replaced the sign with:
“SLOW DOWN! NAKED PERSON AHEAD!”
The results were immediate.
Cars slowed down.
Drivers became extremely cautious.
Everyone crawled through the neighborhood at five miles per hour…
while looking left, right, and everywhere else.
The community leader smiled.
Finally, he had found the one warning drivers actually respected.
He just wished they were paying that much attention to the road.
