When I was a kid, my dad handed me money and said,
“Go pay the electric bill.”
Simple enough…
Except I spotted a raffle for a brand-new pickup truck.
So I did what any future financial genius would do.
I spent every penny on raffle tickets.
When I got home and confessed what I’d done…
Dad introduced me to a very memorable life lesson.
The next morning, we woke up to see a brand-new truck parked right in our driveway.
I couldn’t believe it.
“Dad… I WON!”
We stood there staring at it.
We hugged.
We cried.
Well…
Mostly I cried.
Because it wasn’t the prize truck.
It was the electric company’s truck…
They had come to shut off our power for non-payment.
And just in case I hadn’t learned my lesson the first time…
Dad gave me another reminder. 😂
